Mackenzie Ackerman Varsity Coach
Hello! My name is Mackenzie Ackerman. I currently live in Monticello, MN. Throughout my childhood, my passion for dance grew more every day. I danced at Lucille Murray’s Studio of Dance for 11 years. In 2019, I graduated from Monticello High School where I participated in the fall and winter dance team. Throughout my 4 years with the team, I was honored in being named All Conference, All State, and 2 time captain. I cherish the memories I made, the challenges I faced, and the love that grew for learning and helping others along the way. I graduated from Winona State University in 2022 with a degree in Math Education. Very shortly after, I started working as a math teacher at Buffalo High School where I was introduced to this team. I am beyond excited to be apart of this program and can’t wait to see what the future of BDT has in store!
Ashley Buermann JV Coach
Hello! My name is Ashley Buermann. I work at Buffalo Community Middle School teaching 6th grade mathematics. I first began dance in kindergarten at a local studio, took a break, and then rejoined in 6th grade at Just For Kix in White Bear Lake. From 8th grade to 12th grade, I danced on Chisago Lakes Dance Team and performed in the Minnesota State Dance Team tournament in 2019. In college, I participated in Winona State’s Dance Society Club. I am super excited to be coaching this year and cannot wait for the season to officially start!
Nikki Olesen B-Squad Coach
I’m Nikki, a special education teacher at Parkside. This is my first year teaching and coaching in the district and I’m loving it! I was a dancer for 17 years, ranging from studio to dance team. When I’m not at school, I’m reading a book, playing board games with my friends or lounging with my cat, Clark. I’m so excited for this season and can’t wait to see where this journey in Buffalo can take us!
Jennifer Thaler Assistant Coach
Hello! My name is Jennifer Thaler. I am a kindergarten teacher at Hanover Elementary and am in my 4th year coaching the Buffalo Dance Team! I currently live in Big Lake with my husband, Dylan, and our 2 year old daughter, Aurora (who is BDT’s biggest fan). I grew up dancing competitively with my dance studio and went on to compete with the Rogers Dance Team my 11th and 12th grade years. I have always had a passion for dance and am so excited to continue my journey with the team.
Allyson Blaha Fall Coach
Hello! My name is Allyson Blaha. I live in Coon Rapids, MN and am currently the Head Coach of the Coon Rapids Winter Dance Team. I started dancing at Just For Kix in Fridley and then transitioned to the high school dance team in 7th grade. I was lucky enough to compete at the High School State Dance Team Tournament for 4 years. I received All-State and All-Conference for 2 years and was also team captain for 2 years. This will be my first year Head Coaching the Buffalo Fall Dance Team and I’m super excited to help grow the program and train the team!
